Reconcile Stripe payouts

Stripe deposits look nothing like what customers paid: net of fees, batched across days. Reconciliation feels impossible until you know the payout-level view. This guide gives you the routine.
What the full guide covers
1

Export payouts (not charges) for the period

Stripe → Balance → Payouts → Export. Payout-level is what actually hits the bank.

2

Export bank statements for the same window

Same date range, CSV. Note that Stripe payout dates and bank posting dates differ by a day or two.

3

Match on payout reference, not amount

Each payout carries an ID that appears in the bank description. Match by it and collisions disappear.

4

Book fees as one monthly line

Don't book per-charge fees; total them from the balance export and post a single monthly fee entry.

5

Investigate the residue, not every row

Only unmatched payouts matter. Refunds and disputes explain nearly all of them.
